Mid State Riders of PA

About the Club

Mid State Riders of PA was born from a shared passion for motorcycles, freedom, and camaraderie. Our story began in 2025, when a group of friends and riders from central Pennsylvania came together to form a club that represents the spirit of the open road and the bonds that come with it.

We are centrally located in the heart of Pennsylvania, surrounded by incredible riding opportunities in every direction. From scenic mountain routes to winding country roads, our location offers the perfect starting point for any adventure.

We are a chartered BMWMOA (BMW Motorcycle Owners of America) club, with charter number 376. This affiliation connects us with a global network of enthusiasts and resources, enhancing our riding experience and sense of community.

Club Leadership

Marty Mondock, PRESIDENT

The bug for riding bit me early in life, starting in 1972 with the arrival of a little mini bike. Throughout those early years, I spent time on various motocross and enduro-style bikes. Fast forward to 2001, when the opportunity arose to return to motorcycling after completing Motorcycle Safety Training as a refresher.

Most of my riding time was spent on the backroads and trails of central Pennsylvania, but eventually, the open road started to call. The last 20+ years have been a real adventure, filled with trip planning with friends, short weekend trips with my wife Tara, cross-country trips, and meet-ups with fellow riders.

Tara Mondock, VICE-PRESIDENT

I got my motorcycle license in 2012 after completing the Motorcycle Safety Training Course. I joined my husband Marty in this adventure, enjoying moto-camping, traveling, and day rides, especially exploring Pennsylvania’s beautiful backroads. I started on a Honda CBR 250 and upgraded to a BMW F800GT in 2019.

I prioritize safety, adhere to the AGATT (All the Gear, All the Time) philosophy, and am always open to learning and improving my riding skills.

For me, riding is a way to connect with Marty, share our love for the outdoors, and embrace the freedom of the open road.

Beth Clark, SOCIAL STRATEGIST

After taking a DNF in the motorcycle safety course in 2008 (ask me about it sometime…it’s quite the tale!), I watched from the sidelines for two more years as Chris went off on adventure after adventure until we made the decision to upgrade his Suzuki V-Strom 650 to our current bike – a 2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 – that I might join him as a humble pillion.

I never feel closer to Chris than when we’re riding together – mostly because I’m sitting right behind him, ha! But seriously, riding together is a special kind of adventure that I am so thrilled to share with Chris whether it’s a summer evening dinner ride, a full Saturday tour, a weekend getaway, or a six-day trek through two countries (yes, COUNTRIES) to get to a friend’s house for a weekend BBQ.

I often joke that I “sit on the back and look pretty,” and – aside from doing just that – I also wave to passing motorcyclists, admire old barns and small churches, make witty observations, and occasionally get hangry. In other motorcycle circles, I am known as the “purveyor of cookies,” so don’t be surprised if I show up to a weekend getaway or even a day ride with cookies to share!

Chris Clark, OPERATIONS MANAGER

With over 30 years of riding experience, I’ve spent a lot of time on the road and even worked as a riding instructor for a number of years, helping others build their confidence and skills.

I’m always ready for an adventure, whether it’s a quick ride to grab lunch or a multi-day journey to explore new areas. There’s something special about hitting the road and discovering new places.

Along the way, I’ve had the chance to meet incredible people, share experiences that make every ride memorable, and enjoy quality time spent with my wife, Beth.
